Mid-weight Web Developer

We’re currently on the lookout for a mid-weight developer to join our team. You’ll be working alongside a team of designers and developers on a variety of websites –from brochure and e-commerce, to more complex database-driven web products. You’ll be part of our ongoing process to strengthen our development department and evolve our digital offering.

Day to day…

  • Take ownership of individual projects, working collaboratively where required.
  • Maintaining existing client websites and projects – must be prepared to work in legacy development environments.
  • Manage client expectations within development projects and communicate to account managers where required.
  • Contribute to project estimates and tech scoping when required.
  • Work closely with the design department to communicate best practice for project handovers.
  • Help drive forward the development department by suggesting and implementing new web technologies and standards.

Essential Skills…

  • HTML 5
  • CSS3 – including Flexbox and Grid web standards
  • JS & JQuery
  • Boostrap framework
  • Well versed with WordPress development, including custom theme development, custom plugins and building custom post types from scratch if needed, plus WooCommerce extensions and additional bolt-on solutions
  • A good understanding of adaptive responsive website design
  • Competent in PHP, MySQL
  • Experience with cPanel and other web control panel interfaces
  • Able to take various briefs in the form of flat PDFs for legacy projects, and full Adobe XD prototypes’
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to clearly communicate issues back to designers & project managers
  • Adhere to industry standards for testing, debugging, and compatibility.
  • Comfortable using software such as BrowserStack to test multi-browser and device compatibility.
  • Excellent personal time management, sometimes managing multiple jobs simultaneously, identifying & communicating potential conflicts along the way.
  • Comfortable working in a Mac-based studio
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice to have…

  • Experience with CSS3 animations
  • Knowledge of SASS
  • Experience with Vue.js & React
  • Knowledge of Web Accessibility standards
  • Experience with Laravel

Good to know…

This position is open to WFH due to the current situation, however, office space is available within the building if preferable.

Office space is separated, currently, with one person per room, hand sanitisers and cleaning equipment are all in place

  • Hours: Mon-Friday, 9:00 – 17:30
